Three Companies With 350 Years Combined History Join EAG’s Client Roster

EAG Announces New Clients Riverside Red X, Pioneer Music Company and Burd & Fletcher

Advertising agency to iconic companies KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 21, 2018) – EAG Advertising & Marketing (EAG), Kansas City’s only advertising agency focused on serving entrepreneurial and aggressively growing businesses, announces the addition of three new clients, Riverside Red X, Pioneer Music Company and Burd & Fletcher. These three companies represent 350 years in business, averaging 117 years of history in their industries.

Riverside Red X LogoRiverside Red X has been a fixture in Kansas City’s Northland since 1948 when it opened as a filling station with a small building and $150 worth of inventory. The Red X name comes from the distributor from which founder Ed Young bought his gas. Riverside Red X has endured three floods and a fire over the decades to become the beloved “store to explore.” Its grocery, deli, pharmacy, liquor store, hardware store and eclectic memorabilia now fills 85,000 sq. ft. Second-generation owner, Zeke Young, and his daughter Jen Boyd, chief strategy officer (third generation), are turning to EAG to help the store continue growing with the community just as it has for the past 70 years. EAG will lead all Riverside Red X’s traditional and digital media and marketing. The advertising firm will emphasize introducing the brand to a new generation of destination shoppers whose parents grew up shopping at Riverside Red X.

Pioneer Music LogoIn 1869, Civil War Union Army General, Ulysses S. Grant succeeded Andrew Johnson as the 18th President of the United States, the Golden Spike was driven into a track to mark the First Transcontinental Railroad’s completion in Promotory, Utah, and Pioneer Music Company (PMC) was founded as a retail hardware store in Burlington, Ks by the Haight family. In the 1950s, it evolved into the consumer electronics wholesale distributor that it is today. From the Victrola to 8-track players to web-enabled home security, PMC’s family owners have seen it and sold it all in nearly 150 years. The latest generation of Haights is relying on EAG to help tell their story and tout their expertise in a time of electronic commoditization. PMC is tapping EAG to assist with launching new digital marketing initiatives, as well as supporting its entry into new markets around the Midwest.

Burd & Fletcher LogoIn 2018, Burd & Fletcher marks it 132nd year of continuous family ownership and developing and manufacturing the highest quality printed folding cartons and formed containers in the retail food industry. This manufacturer works with companies ranging from small, modest dairies to large, multi-national consumer products companies. Food retailers count on Burd & Fletcher for the finest paperboard products and tailored solutions in an industry where innovation and technology drive constant change. EAG will help Burd & Fletcher implement new brand strategies and content that reinforces the company’s past and future industry leadership.

Paul Weber, EAG’s founder and chief strategy officer says, “We are humbled to work with these iconic companies that have grown and prospered for generations. Running a business is hard, extremely hard. To survive the changes and challenges these businesses must have encountered over their combined 350 years is truly remarkable. It is our honor to play a small part in their continuing evolution and success.”
